Belgrade is also known as ‘the new capital of cool’ because of its highly diversified nightlife. If you are a fan of rock’n’roll, pop, jazz, electro, there will be a club in Belgrade catering to your taste in music. The alternative cultural scene in Sava Mala is also not to be avoided. In case you are a real bookworm, the Book Fair is held every October. Many festivals take place all year round in Belgrade, like FEST – a film festival screening independent world cinema as well as blockbusters, BITEF – a modern theatre festival, BELEF – a festival of performance and visual art, BEER FEST – the name says it all plus the music. If you are into nature, Belgrade boasts two rivers with long promenades along them perfect for walking, jogging, rollerblading or cycling, especially during warmer spring or autumn days. Even more sports activities are offered at Ada Ciganlija, an artificial lake between New Belgrade and Belgrade. There you can go swimming, water skiing, rent a pedalo or a bike, play tennis, volleyball, golf and rugby, or simply go for a picnic with your new friends.
