Modern Greek Language Course

Yassas! Would you like to embark on a fantastic and soulful journey of exploring Greek language and culture at College of Tourism in Belgrade?

In cooperation started with the Embassy of the Republic of Greece launching projects on the Balkan cultural heritage and subsequently the Modern Greek Studies Department at the University of Belgrade, the College of Tourism has organized the following language courses:

MODERN GREEK ELEMENTARY
MODERN GREEK INTERMEDIATE

Classes are held by Dr Vojkan Stojičić, professor at the Modern Greek Studies Department at the University of Belgrade on a weekly basis (2+1) relying on the principles of the Bologna Declaration, the communicative method in foreign language learning ​​and CEFRL.

The Course status is recognized by the Regulations on the Evaluation of Extracurricular Activities of the College of Tourism in Belgrade, thus providing the legal framework for taking exams. More than 200 hundred students have successfully passed exams in Greek language so far.

The interest in learning Greek has been incited by traditionally close links with Greece, the growing presence of Greek and Cypriot firms and most importantly student work placement at the resorts of Halkidiki, Olympic region, islands in the Aegean and Ionian seas.

Additionally, EU Embassies Open Door Days on May 21, 2015 was a tremendous opportunity to exchange views with Ambassador of the Republic of Greece in Belgrade HE. Mr. Konstandinos Ikonomidis and the members of the diplomatic corps as well as to look into the possibilities of professional development programs and scholarships for continuing education in Greece.


ΕU Embassies Οpen Doors

Therefore, each year students of the College of Tourism in Belgrade can apply for scholarships awarded by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as well as National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Scholarships include the attending summer courses of history and civilization as well as Modern Greek, whereas letters of support are granted by the professor Dr Vojkan Stojičić from the Modern Greek Studies Department at the University of Belgrade.
